“Gathering” was inspired and painted in solidarity and respect to the peaceful protests of unity and collective voices heard around the world

for the life of George Floyd, support in the continuing Black Lives Matter movement, for equality, and for the future.

Gatherings of millions in large cities and small towns across the United States began in May, 2020 and still continue globally today. Under bright blue skies and kaleidoscopes of color, woven with black and white, we participate and watch as we embrace the right of freedom of speech and assembly. We protest peacefully for civil rights and justice for the lives lost through brutality and racism.

How can we still be protesting for change, again and again, demanding decency and the protection of human and civil rights for all, no matter the color of one’s skin, gender, creed, or race? Enough. Our voices and persistence have become increasingly greater in a battle cry for awareness and transition for good.

Here is to hope and optimism for a future of strong leadership, linked arms with our brothers and sisters, and finally moving forward while building a stronger bridge to reform and heal our severely injured and divided country.

As a contribution to the effort, net proceeds from the print are donated to benefit the American Civil Liberties Union, ACLU and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, NAACP.
