Trumpeting Bud Vase

This little bud vase has some gorgeous contrast.  I heavily scorched parts with my torch and worked red watercolor paint directly from the tube into the wood.  The top was colored with copper metallic acrylic paint.  The wood itself provides a lot of visual interest with some spalting and subtle variations in color.
