The artist was fascinated by the shiny, crinkly texture of the foil wrapped around the kisses. She wanted to paint five of them adjacent to each other because she was intrigued by how the different colors such as red, blue, pink and green reflected off each other. The abstract shapes were like little interlocking puzzle pieces. For the artist, making art is solving a type of puzzle. The subject of the puzzle is understanding light and color on a
deep level filled with nuance. The watercolor is preserved in a tasteful wooden frame with silver metallic paint. It has a weathered finish. The surface of the frame is lint-proof plexiglass. It also is anti-glare. The size of the frame is approx 14" h by 16" w by 1" deep.
