Curracloe Strand - Ireland Series

Inspired by memories of summertime swimming at Curracloe Strand (beach) in county Wexford, Ireland. In my painting, I tried to capture the sandy nature of the beach, and the long distance from the edge of the beach to the sea.

Curracloe Strand was used for filming the Omaha Beach D-Day landing in the movie ‘Saving Private Ryan’, starring Tom Hanks, and featured in the movie ‘Brooklyn’, starring Saoirse Ronan.
