This piece is talking about where we were in 1972, where we are today, and where we are going to be in 2072.
As a college freshman 1972 "The Last Whole Earth Catalog" was required reading. It arrogantly and ignorantly declared
"We are as gods and might as well get good at it"
And so in the last 50 years we've moved ahead accordingly and ignorantly in our actions and inactions as gods. The Earth's fragile climate has fatally been harmed by our shortsighted greed.
In 2021 Greta Thunberg said "BLAH BLAH BLAH" in response to the politicians statements at the COP26 Climate Summit.
I sit at the center of the painting, looking back and looking ahead.
