This painting is a genre scene which depicts two older gentlemen eating breakfast at Ovo Frito, a diner in the artist's neighborhood. She was intrigued by the geometric shapes in the red umbrellas and the shadows that they cast on the wall. She is inspired by the work of Richard Diebenkorn and that of the other Bay Area Figurative Painters.
