Equals are Equal is a lithograph on paper of a note written by Abraham Lincoln. Overlaid on the print is hand-colored imagery based on a mathematical proposition by Euclid. The note and the mathematical proposition are interrelated as Lincoln considers the idea of a proposition in this note and in his Gettysburg Address. Lincoln also carried a book of Euclid's Elements when he was on the legal circuit in Illinois.
