I hand-stitched this piece one bead at a time, using Miyuki Delica glass seed beads and One-G nylon beading thread, both considered to be of the highest quality available. Both products are made in Japan.

This piece is special for several reasons. First, because it has, as far as I and the founders of Contemporary Geometric Beadwork know, more "winged peaks" than any other. Each tiny peak has two wings, which meet in (what looks to my eye) prayer. Second, because of its complexity and scale, it took more than a year to complete. Finally, it is special because it is to be featured in an upcoming book on Contemporary Geometric Beadwork!

I was ill and homebound during the year of its creation, and its colorway is reminiscent of some of some blooming plants on my back landing when I began its first rounds.
