I hand-stitched this piece one bead at a time over several months, using Miyuki Delica glass seed beads and One-G nylon beading thread, both considered to be of the highest quality available. Both products are made in Japan.
The clasp is an extremely strong magnet made by Claspgarten, a company started by a Czeck master-solderer in the 1920s. Claspgarten clasps are known for strength and resistance to tarnish.
The color-way is reminiscent of one of my father's paintings, abstract expressionist piece featuring gradations of a dark, warm red that I could look at all day.
