This is piece is featured at the Noyes Cultural Art Center in the exhibit "What is Racial Justice?"  I created this piece to honor the Black Panthers and their movement for liberation.  Often times, the Black Panther Party is left out of history books and their contributions to society are unrecognized.  Their unapologetic view on how to deal with white supremacy made them the "villain" and they are not.  Anyone's approach to justice that was unlike Dr. King's was looked at as immoral and a threat.  Well, Dr. King was still considered a threat even though he used anti-violence practices.  The BPP only wanted to defend themselves and their communities against White tyranny and were imprisoned and persecuted for it.  This piece pays homage to their bravery and sacrifice for Black liberation.
